Commissions
City boards and commissions were established for the purpose of advising the City Council and providing ongoing input into policies and issues affecting the future of the San José community. All persons seeking membership on a board or commission must be San José residents and some commissions have additional membership requirements. To gain access to City’s other Advisory Boards and Commissions please review the City Clerk’s Office's website. All meetings are open to the public and copies of the agendas are available at least 7 days prior to any regularly scheduled meeting
ADVISORY COMMISSION ON RENTS - The Advisory Commission on Rents (ACR) consists of seven members and advises the Director of Housing, the City Council and the Mayor on matters pertaining Apartment Rent Ordinance. ACR Meetings are held on the third Thursday of odd numbered months at 5:30 p.m. at the City Hall.
HOUSING & COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT ADVISORY COMMISSION - The Housing & Community Development Advisory Commission (HCDC) consists of nine members who advise the Director of Housing, Mayor, and City Council on matters pertaining to affordable housing policies and the Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) program. HCDC meetings are held every second Thursday of the month at 5:45pm at City Hall.
MOBILEHOME ADVISORY COMMISSION - The Mobilehome Advisory Commission (MAC) consists of five members who oversees the Mobilehome Rent Ordinance. The Commission advises the Director of Housing, the City Council and the Mayor on matters pertaining to Mobilehomes. MAC Meetings are held on the third Thursday of even numbered months at 5:00 p.m. at the City Hall.
