Purchase and Management of two Fourplexes - Opportunity for Purchase and Management of Two Existing Fourplexes Located at 110 No. 22 and 127 Roundtable Drive, San Jose, CA funded through the Housing and Economic Recovery Act of 2008 - Neighborhood Stabilization Program 1 (NSP1)

Neighborhood Stabilization Program 2 Request for Proposals - NSP2 funds are intended for up to three Development Entities to appraise, acquire, rehabilitate, and resell foreclosed single-family homes to income-qualified households. Eligible properties must be located within 35 specific census tracts of San Jose having the highest concentrations of foreclosures, sub-prime mortgages, and mortgage defaults.

Public Notice

15-DAY Public Notice of an Amendment to the Consolidated Plan - this notice is to announce that an amendment to the Consolidated Plan-Annual Action Plan for 2008-09 will be available beginning November 3rd, 2008 for a 15-day public notice period. You are invited to give your views on the proposals to:

  1. Accept federal Neighborhood Stabilization Program funds in the amount of $5,628,283;
  2. The use of these funds for the acquisition of multi-family housing in foreclosure for the purpose of rehabilitation, or demolition and new construction, of rental housing affordable to lower-income households; and
  3. The use of funds for the acquisition and rehabilitation of single-family homes in foreclosure for the purpose of resale at affordable prices to income-qualified households. Comments will be used to amend the City’s Consolidated Plan - Annual Action Plan for 2008-2009.

    HUD Awards San José $25 Million for Neighborhood Stabilization - 2010

    Under the American Recovery and Reinvestment Act, 2009, $1.93 Billion was set aside to carry out Neighborhood Stabilization Program- Part 2 (NSP2) activities.

    As part of the San Jose Consortium, the City of San Jose joined two local nonprofits- The Housing Trust of Santa Clara County and Neighborhood Housing Services Silicon Valley- in submitting a request for $25 Million to implement two NSP2 eligible programs, 1) Purchase Assistance Loan Program and 2) Acquisitions and Rehabilitation Program.
